KIDS` CHURCH

Because most children from our organization are from families that are underprivileged in various ways such as divorce, early pregnancies, poverty, poor leadership skills, absent parents, and unbelieving families, Mau kids’ organization saw it fit to equip them with Godly knowledge and help turn them into God-fearing, talented, community-oriented individuals. We believe that the:

i) kids church is Good for society -Children who understand God’s moral law and how to love their neighbors will make the world a better place.
ii) It is good for their future spouses. Children who learn to love their neighbors and follow Jesus in all of life will be ready for marriages that last a lifetime. These values must begin when to be learned early in life.
iii) It is good for their future employers. Hard work and self-control are virtues that the Bible assumes all Christians will demonstrate. Children’s ministry helps produce adults who love Jesus and follow his Word.
iv) It provides a context for children learn to do peer-to-peer evangelism. When kids invite other kids to church, they take the first steps to witnessing to their friends. Children’s ministry helps make that happen by encouraging kids to share Jesus.
v) It promotes their eternal happiness
vi) It helps them make sense out of life.
vii) It’s their best chance to accept Christ.
viii) It helps avoid some negative outcomes of sin.
ix) It can help counter balance worldly influences.
x) It can help them learn to love others
xi) It is something fun to do
xii) It helps discover and intervene in abusive home situations. This is something we rarely address. But the church is often one of the few safe places on Earth for abused children.
xiii) It gives kids meaningful keepsakes. Those VBS and Sunday school crafts often become prized possessions. The Bible verses on their keepsakes will remind them of what they have learned for years to come.
xiv) It allows them to make friends with adult volunteers in safe context. In our culture child safety is a constant concern, and rightly so. But there is still great value in kids finding adult mentors in the church.

MEDICAL CAMP

imgservices

Twice a year, in partnership with Chamberlain College of Nursing, the residents of the Korogocho, and other Kenyan slums receive basic medical care free of charge for two weeks.

Poor people in Nairobi's slums can't afford even the simplest medical care. These medical camps have also proven vital in detecting more serious medical conditions that might not otherwise have been recognized and treated. Our friends from Chamberlain over the past few years have treated literally thousands of people from cute infants, to struggling senior citizens to a colony of lepers in Korogocho.

SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM

imgservices
According to the World Bank, School feeding program have been defined as “targeted social safety nets that provide both the educational and health benefits to the most vulnerable children, thereby increasing enrolment rates, minimizing absenteeism, and improving food security at the household level.”

In this case, school meals have been shown to increase the nutritional status of school-aged children in various ways, which allows for gender equity across all spheres of social and economic life. Through school feeding program the cost of sending girls to school reduces in that it allows for an increased number of girls to be sent to school by their families.

Moreover, improvements in female literacy that come from increased education have been linked to declining rates of fertility, increased economic opportunities and other markers of female empowerment. You can support this program by donating money that will go into parking nutritious meals or school supplies
